How to Setup a Google My Business Listing

If you own a local business, setup a Google My Business listing. This will get you listed in Google Maps and Google Search results and improve your rankings.

Before You Get Started

You should not use a virtual office or PO box for your Google My Business listing. You’ll need to either use a physical office space or your personal home address. Either way you can hide this address from the public if you don’t do business at the location you specify.

Step 1 – Visit Google My Business

Step 3 – Fill Out Business Information

Enter your EXACT business name and ensure it matches your social media profiles. If you don’t have a physical office location, you can use your personal home address and keep it private by checking off “Yes” at the bottom of the form. Lastly, when choosing the category be sure that it reflects your services.

Step 4 – Request PIN

You’ll be prompted to have a PIN mailed to you.

Step 5 – Verify Your Listing

Google will say that you’ll receive your PIN within a matter of days, we’ve seen it take up to 3 weeks.
